S. President Donald Trump has called on Israel and Iran to immediately stop exchanging attacks as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise. Trump made the statement on his Truth Social platform after both nations launched fresh strikes against each other following a fragile ceasefire. 

The renewed violence reportedly began after Iran fired missiles toward Israel overnight, prompting Israeli forces to launch retaliatory strikes on military and strategic targets inside Iran. Air raid sirens were heard across parts of Israel as defense systems intercepted incoming missiles. 

In his message, Trump wrote that “Israel and Iran must immediately stop ‘shooting,’” while also suggesting that efforts toward a new ceasefire agreement were underway. He claimed negotiations for peace were progressing quickly despite the latest escalation in hostilities. 

Israeli officials confirmed that the country targeted Iranian military infrastructure and defense systems after Tehran’s latest missile barrage. Iran, meanwhile, described its actions as retaliation against Israeli operations linked to attacks on allied groups in the region. 

The clashes marked one of the most serious confrontations between Israel and Iran since a temporary ceasefire was reached earlier this year. Analysts fear the violence could trigger a broader regional conflict involving armed groups and neighboring countries across the Middle East. 

According to reports, Trump also held discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the situation intensified. The White House has reportedly been trying to prevent the fighting from escalating into a

International leaders and the United Nations have also urged both countries to exercise restraint and return to diplomatic talks. UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned that continued violence could threaten stability across the entire region. 

Despite Trump’s public appeal for calm, military officials in both Israel and Iran signaled they remain prepared for further confrontation if attacks continue. Observers say the coming days will be critical in determining whether diplomacy can prevent another major conflict in the Middle East.
